The universe wont help you unless you help yourself.

"I've been too busy!" I say, as I spy my abandoned bullet journal, the novels I never finished writing and the "to fix" list of DIY projects that have been left unfinished for months. And I wonder why I feel things spiralling out of control at times.
The truth is, I am very busy, with work, parenting, homeschooling and also my forensic psychology degree, I lead a pretty busy life. So why is it, when we're busy, we forget about the really important things we need to sort out?
Avoidance.
Thing is, many of us know, you can't ignore things forever, and the universe will come along and remind you to get your shit together.
I see this often in readings, for myself and others. The universe suggests something, trying something new and in doing so things will take a positive turn for the better. A few months later. Nothing has changed. The message was not wrong, we were, we did not take the advice from the universe. We did not try. We did not bring about change into our lives.
So why is it, I am seeing in influx of people from all walks of life that believe that the universe is just going to gift wrap what they want, and post it to their front door.
I always advocate that my readings are for guidance, not predictive things. Yes, the universe may show a suggestion of something, but I always explain to my clients, things don't just happen if you sit back and do nothing. I like to think of the Tarot as a motivational speaker, a hard hitting fitness coach, aimed to get you off your backside and being proactive and productive.
Maybe I will start using my bullet journal again. I know today, I need to get myself going again, I have been lapsed, I have been ignoring areas of my life, and in typical fashion, this has spiralled and created internal chaos and external chaos. Time to reclaim control, be proactive and start moving forward.
And no, I wont be tackling those DIY prjects. I have a bullet journal to sort out.
