Today Nemetona came forward from the Goddess Guidance cards and the message was one of, "Create an altar or visit a power place to connect with the divine." I have an altar, but I started thinking, am I making the most of my home, my space as a means to connect, focus and most of all, find balance.

This had me thinking about the fact, an altar is a pretty important thing, but what are the other options?

*Create a special journal in which you write letters to what ever universal energy you connect with. Dedicate 5 minutes a day. Light a candle perhaps. This can be done anywhere, from the bath while you relax in the evening or before you go to bed while tucked up cosy. This journal will be your sacred space. Create scrap-art, collages, doodles, collect flowers, and feathers and stick them inside.

*Place a tealight by your kitchen window (if you have one). Before cooking, light the candle and say thanks, to the universe (or your resident Tomte, if you believe) and turn your kitchen into your sacred space.

*Hang a mirror by your front door. Every day, say a mantra to your reflection before you leave. You could even stick mantra's or positive pictures on the mirror or around the mirror to boost your energy before leaving.

*Have a tea light candle by your bathroom sink. While you're brushing your teeth, light the candle and take those couple of minutes to think about your goals for the day

*hang pictures up of your favourite deities in popular places within the home
